We’ve just about recovered from an absolutely action-packed September start. Our 40th Birthday party was a roaring success – thank you so much for joining us, if you made it down. Congratulations go to Kate Ellie Green for winning our design competition with a beautiful silhoutte. We’ve had it printed on to totes (available through our webshop) and t shirts which you can order directly from our store at teemill. Thank you to everyone who entered, we had a fantastic range to choose from and picking a winner was a real challenge.

The bar was busy all day, and we’d like to thank Abbeydale Brewery for supplying us with beer. Our house wines also went down well so watch out for them hitting our shelves this autumn. These photos were taken by Dean Atkins, who covered the day wonderfully, but if you have any of your own please do send them in to us.

From left to right: Chris, Fennel, Rachael, Jade, Isabella, Joanna, Lucy, Rosie, Madi (as jester) Bob and Ella.
Our birthday cake came from Sista Bakes, who amazed us with a big cake that was a) vegan b) delicious and c) beautiful. We washed it down with Smith Street’s Beanies 40th Anniversary coffee, which is also now available through our webshop. We’d like to send our great thanks to all of them.

We’d also like to thank the bands: Al Grodon, Shelley Byron and the Dizzy Club, along with sound engineer Pete Nolan, for bringing some extra sparkle to the proceedings. We’d also like to thank all of our stallholders and raffle prize donors – special hat tip to Tummy Tonics, who sold out of hot dogs and then reappeared 40 minutes later with an emergency batch.
On behalf of the team I’d like to thank Rosie, Madi and Joanna for pulling all this together. And finally, we’d all like to say a huge and generous thank you to everyone who has come through our doors over the past 40 years. We’re immensely proud of what we do here, and we’re looking forward to the next 40 years. Beanies forever!
